BENIR Foundation is a non-profit initiative focused on solving the water crisis through pond and lake rejuvenation, rainwater conservation, and sustainable water management.
The foundation works on identifying and restoring old village ponds and creating new ones where necessary improving groundwater levels, supporting farmers, and building a long-term water ecosystem around karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
To eliminate water scarcity within a 150–200 km radius across Karnataka and Tamil Nadu by restoring traditional water bodies and promoting sustainable water conservation.
Restore and redevelop old village ponds that have been neglected for decades.
Improve groundwater levels and water availability for farmers and communities.
Support biodiversity and ecological balance in and around water bodies.
Prevent urban flooding through natural water storage and retention systems.

Founder, BENIR Foundation
Nayan Hirji Patel was born in Bhachau village in the Kutch district of Gujarat. He completed his primary education at Jain International Boarding School in Bengaluru, graduated from King’s College in London, and later completed his Master’s degree from Imperial University in London.
He is involved in multiple businesses, including a mineral water company operating under the brand name Bailey. Deeply concerned about the growing water crisis in cities like karnataka and Tamil Nadu, he was inspired by the work of his father, Shri Hirji Naran Patel, who successfully renovated 18 ponds in their village between 2017 and 2029.
Inspired by this initiative, Nayan Hirji Patel founded BENIR Foundation with a mission to restore ponds and create sustainable water ecosystems across South India.
